Elizabeth Edwards, Author of bestselling book, Died

Elizabeth Edwards, bestselling author and the force behind her husband John Edwards political career before their households damaged by infidelity John, died Tuesday, at the age of 61 years.

Elizabeth died of cancer Tuesday morning at his home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was surrounded by members of his family, his family said in a statement.

"Today, we have lost the comfort of the presence of Elizabeth, but she stays in the heart of this family. We love him and would never recognize others who are more inspirational or full of life," they said.

Elizabeth was first diagnosed with breast cancer and treated in 2004. In 2007, cancer struck again and spread to various parts of his body.

He wrote two best-selling book "Resilience" and "Saving graces." The book tells about the long struggle against cancer and the scandal surrounding her husband, a rich lawyer who became a U.S. senator from North Carolina and twice ran for U.S. president.

Her husband is a rising star in the U.S. Democratic Party. He was elected as a pair of Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, when John Kerry narrowly defeated top candidate of the Republican presidential defense (incumbent), George W. Bush.

"Elizabeth Edwards is the mother of a very loving, giving and loving," John Kerry said in a statement.

Political and personal fortunes changed after John Edwards National Enquirer tabloid newspaper, began reporting the story affair with an aide during the campaign which is mentioned named Rielle Hunter when he tried to run for the Democratic presidential election in 2008. John Edwards initially denied the report and called it "tabloid trash."

Elizabeth Edwards and her husband announced in January 2010 they had split after 32 years married. Separation occurs approximately one week after John Edwards admitted he was the father of a baby with Rielle Hunter. The tiny baby was 2 years old when John Edwards admitted he was the father of the baby.

Elizabeth Edwards household clutter even when he was battling a deadly cancer. On December 6, 2010, he said at his Facebook posting, "I have gained throughout my life with three blessings - my family, my friends, and faith in the power of recovery from illness and hope."

"All these blessings have brought me through hard times and everything has been giving more happiness at that time enjoyable than I could imagine. The days of my life, for us all, can be calculated. We know that," he added.

Elizabeth and John Edwards take the tragedy of John's household before plunging into politics.

The couple's oldest child died in 1996, aged 16 years, in a traffic accident in North Carolina, when the vehicle is being be steered into the family home on the beach had an accident. The couple had three more children.
